Senior Advocate Harish Salve charged Rs 1 as his fee to represent India during the Jan-Sunwing in Kulbhushan Jadhav case in International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague. Pakistan, on the other hand, spent more than Rs 20 crores on lawyers to prove Kulbhushan Jadhav as a spy.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had disclosed in a tweet on May 15, 2017, that Salve was charging only 1 rupee to represent India in The Hague. According to the reports, Salve charges Rs 30 lakh a day.

The Pakistan government had said in its budget document presented in the National Assembly last year that it paid Rs 20 crore to the UK-based barrister Khawar Qureshi, who is representing the country in the Hague. Cambridge University law graduate, Qureshi is the youngest lawyer to prosecute in ICJ.
