Adding 3D ToF sensor to iPhone 12’s rear camera will add enhanced reality capabilities. In iOS 12, the company takes the device that started work with ARKit 3 with its ARKit 2 and the upcoming iOS 13.

By adding 3D ToF sensor to the rear camera setup, the iPhone 12 can measure an area of ​​15 feet or 4.5 meters, which is longer than the sensor on the current Android phone. According to the report, Apple specifically requested its supply chain partners for VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Laser) components, which will not only improve the AR capabilities of the iPhone 12 but rather the device to capture more accurately from the depth Will allow.
